QIA’s Pan-European Quantum Internet Hackathon 2024 wraps up with amazing projects
Over 60 participants from all over Europe joined the Pan-European Quantum Internet Hackathon 2024 happening simultaneously in Delft (Netherlands), Dresden (Germany) and Paris (France), and Poznań (Poland).
Organised by QIA, the hackathon ran from 15th to 16th of February where students, young researchers and other quantum enthusiasts worked on challenges on secure quantum digital payments, blind quantum computing, extending QKD implementation and quantum leader election.
They used SquidASM quantum network simulator as the main simulation framework for the event. This simulators is also being used within the QIA project to simulate applications and inform hardware design.
Below are some of the outputs during the two-day hackathon (to be updated):
- Hackathon2024 Secure Payment Delft
- Quantum Digital Payment Paris
- Quantum Train Team (Secure Digital Payment) Poznań
- Secure Payments Dresden
- Extending QKD Delft
SURF, TU Dresden and Veriqloud also hosting nodes in Delft, Dresden and Paris, respectively. Our external partner Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC) organised the node in Poznań.
This year’s hackathon builds on the success of our Pan-European Hackathons in 2019 and 2022, and is organised by the QIA Use Case Team in close collaboration with RIPE NCC and GEANT.
