Internship at Veriqloud’s Hardware Development Team
Open to Master Students | Internship period: minimum of 4 months
The proposed work consists of implementing clock distribution protocols between different devices linked together by fibre optics. Such protocols enable devices to be synchronised with each other across a communications network.
The targeted protocol is the White Rabbit, developed by CERN. The intern will receive the hardware and equipment to implement the protocol from available sources, and work on the integration into VeriQloud’s appliances. Knowledge of digital electronics, and in particular FPGA programming, will be a valuable asset for this internship.
Tasks of the intern:
- Participate in the implementation of digital electronics programmes
- Determine the optimum components to use
- Carry out standard tests to judge the success of the implementation
- Work with the team to solve any technical problems that may arise
- Document and present research results
The ideal candidates:
- Has a good understanding of the fundamentals of digital electronics
- Working knowledge of electronic design tools and software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
