University of Parma brings expertise from computer engineering and physics in the domain of quantum compiling for local/distributed quantum computing, simulation of quantum internet applications and open quantum systems, design and analysis of quantum protocols, quantum computing and quantum simulation.

Within QIA, they work on developing compilers for distributed quantum computing and quantum internet applications targeting qubit- and qudit-based platforms. Furthermore, they are involved in preparatory activities for Open Access, in the QIA Technology Forum, and in standardisation watch.

University of Parma is also leading the Use Case Team, which provides expertise in the development, simulation, and benchmarking of (quantum) applications and protocols of communication networks.
