THALES

THALES Group is a major French and internationally leading technology corporation active in defence, aeronautics, space, and digital identity and security markets.

Thales Research & Technology France, the corporate research center work hand-in-hand with start-ups, industry partners and the academic research community to provide our customers with the most advanced solutions possible, and relies on two complementary and strategic activities: hardware activities supported by Thales R&T-Hardware and digital activities supported by CortAIx Labs.

  • Thales Research and Technology Hardware team is involved in QIA’s effort to develop a fully integrated quantum repeater system. The team brings to QIA its expertise in field-deployable technological demonstrators incorporating complex lasers sources and cryogenics and has a large expertise in low-noise, tuneable laser sources carrying RF signals, high-purity signal generation, opto-electronic components, rare-earth doped solids optical signal processing, photonic integrated circuits.
  • CortAIx Labs team brings to QIA its expertise in quantum communications networks, along with its capability to design and develop prototypes of innovative communication solutions. Within QIA, CortAIx Labs will develop the network layer required to enable long-distance entanglement.
