On the 18th to 19th of May in Bilbao, QIA was proud to participate in Q-Expo 2026, one of Europe’s leading events dedicated to connecting the quantum research, industry, investment and end-user communities. As a strategic partner of the European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC), QIA helped bring quantum networking to the forefront of discussions on the future of quantum technologies.

Our participation reflected the consortium’s growing focus on industrialisation and ecosystem development. Through a dedicated quantum networking plenary, QIA brought together international experts, industry representatives, startups and researchers to discuss why quantum networking matters, the current state of the field worldwide, key scaling challenges, emerging use cases, and the pathway towards real-world deployment.

Beyond the plenary programme, we hosted activities through the QIA Technology Forum (QIATF), our open platform connecting industry, academia and ecosystem partners. These sessions provided opportunities for participants to exchange perspectives on use cases, testbeds, deployment pathways, and future collaboration, reinforcing our role as a hub for quantum internet ecosystem building.

Throughout the event, the QIA booth served as a focal point for attendees interested in learning more about us, our prototype network, innovation activities, startup ecosystem and opportunities for engagement. The booth facilitated valuable conversations with researchers, companies, policymakers, investors and prospective collaborators from across the global quantum community.

As one of Europe’s leading quantum technology events, Q-Expo 2026 provided a valuable platform for discussions on innovation, industrialisation, and ecosystem development across the quantum sector. QIA was proud to contribute to these conversations by showcasing how quantum networking is progressing from scientific research towards practical applications and deployment.
