Join us and shape the quantum devices of tomorrow!
Job description
As QIA Project Manager, you will play a key operational role in coordinating the closure of the first phase of QIA’s current Framework Partnership Agreement (FPA) and the early implementation of its second phase. Working within an established programme governance structure, you will ensure smooth organisational, administrative, and reporting processes across the consortium. You will support project planning, deliverables tracking, budget coherence, EC compliance, and cross-functional coordination between work package leaders, partners, and internal teams. This role sits at the heart of QIA’s operations, enabling the consortium to deliver high-quality outcomes under Horizon Europe requirements. You will collaborate closely with the Senior Program Manager, maintaining a clear division between operational project management and programme-level strategy and steering.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support for the day-to-day coordination and management of activities related to the closing of QIA phase 1. Coordinate the setup and early implementation of QIA phase 2 within QIA’s established governance structures.
- Execute and oversee operational delivery of the project, monitoring progress against deliverables, milestones, timelines, risks, and issues, and ensuring structured governance, reporting, and administrative oversight.
- Support financial management and EC-compliance, ensuring documentation, reporting materials, and cost overviews are aligned with Horizon Europe requirements.
- Facilitate operational coordination between work package leaders, consortium partners, the project office, finance, and legal teams.
- Track risks, timelines, and reporting readiness, escalating issues to the Senior Program Manager or QIA Director where needed.
- Ensure structured information flow across partners and internal teams, supporting effective decision-making.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Program Manager, maintaining clear separation between operational execution and programme-level steering.
Requirements
- Min 3 years’ experience as a Project Manager in an academic setting or experience with Horizon Europe or other EU-funded projects is a must.
- Strong organisational, planning, and project-coordination skills as well as ability to manage multiple stakeholders across complex, multi-partner environments.
- Experience coordinating structured processes in research, innovation, or project-driven settings.
- Ability to work systematically with documentation, deadlines, reporting cycles, and administrative deliverables.
- Prior experience in large, multi-actor R&D consortia or deep-tech initiatives would be a plus.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
