Postdocs in Experimental Quantum Optics at University of Copenhagen
Two senior postdoc positions are available within experimental quantum optics at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen. The position(s) will be part of the experimental quantum photonics group and the Center for Hybrid Quantum Networks (Hy-Q) headed by Profs. Peter Lodahl and Anders. S. Sørensen. The successful candidates will be responsible for leading and developing the existing activities within coupled quantum emitters and spin-photon interfaces and will be the daily supervisor of the Ph.D. students working on the projects. For experienced applicants the position can potentially be upgraded to a (non-tenure track) assistant professor position after a short time.
The quantum photonics group specializes in developing quantum photonic nanostructures containing quantum dots for deterministic photon sources including single-photon sources, multi-photon entanglement sources and coupled quantum emitters. The developed hardware is employed for quantum-information processing applications for advanced quantum communication and photonic quantum computing.
Hy-Q is a center of excellence funded by the Danish National Research Foundation, which combines experimental and theoretical research within optomechanics, single photon emitters and nanophotonics. The center has approximately 50 researchers and is characterized by close daily interactions between the members of the center, both socially and scientifically.
The postdoc’s duties will include research within the areas described above. The post may also include performance of other duties.
