The main focus of the Chair’s research is concentrated on future communication systems, including quantum communications. In particular, they are exploring quantum-based time synchronisation methods for next-generation networks such as 5G and 6G.

TU Dresden is part of QIA Use Case Team. As such, they work on the definition and characterisation of specific applications for the quantum internet, and on identifying the performance metrics required by quantum communication technologies to support 5G and future 6G use cases.
