Laboratoire d'Informatique de Sorbonne Université and Laboratoire Kastler Brossel
Sorbonne University/CNRS
Sorbonne University and CNRS contributes with their joint research units: Laboratoire d’Informatique de Sorbonne Université (LIP6) and Laboratoire Kastler Brossel (LKB).
LIP6 has leading expertise in developing protocols for quantum networks, and all the steps to their implementation from basic proof of principle experiments to integration into full stacks. LIP6’s protocol expertise plays a key role in QIA Use Case Team. It also participates in complementary efforts in quantum communication (e.g. French national efforts (QuCommTestBed) and future encryption technologies), providing a linking pin between QIA and said efforts.
LKB has world-class expertise in experimental physics on the development of the scientific and technical abilities for the realisation of quantum networks, as demonstrated for example by the realisation of a world record efficiency of a quantum memory. This research involves fundamental and more applied studies in quantum optics, laser physics, non-linear optics, cold atoms and superconducting detectors. LKB is involved in a key repeater system in QIA on the Design Alternatives Track.
