The Metropolitan Team is responsible for the realisation of the hardware for QIA’s metropolitan networks, including processing end nodes, metropolitan hubs, and photonic clients. The team comprises leading experts in quantum hardware development, quantum network architecture, and electronic and optical control.

The Metropolitan Team works closely with the Stack and Integration Team for integration of the hardware with QIA’s unified software and network stack, with the Long-Distance Team for the integration of the metropolitan networks with the long-distance backbone, and with the Architecture Team for modelling and simulation support.
