A two-year post­doc posi­tion is avail­able in the the­o­ret­i­cal quan­tum optics group at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Basel, see http://qotg.physik.unibas.ch. Our aim is to lay the the­o­ret­i­cal ground­work that is need­ed for imple­ment­ing the first ful­ly func­tion­ing quan­tum net­works. In par­tic­u­lar, we pro­mote a scal­able approach in which the prop­er func­tion­ing of each build­ing block of quan­tum net­works is cer­ti­fied before being com­bined. We are inter­est­ed in cer­ti­fi­ca­tion tech­niques based on Bell tests as they hold inde­pen­dent­ly of the details of the actu­al imple­men­ta­tion. We are look­ing for an enthu­si­as­tic and cre­ative researcher inter­est­ed in join­ing our group and col­lab­o­rat­ing with lead­ing exper­i­men­tal groups. Knowl­edge in quan­tum optics/quantum infor­ma­tion is appre­ci­at­ed.
