Postdoc of Theoretical Quantum Optics

Postdoc of Theoretical Quantum Optics
Center for Hybrid Quantum Networks (Hy‑Q)
The Niels Bohr Institute
Faculty of Science
University of Copenhagen

The position will be part of the theoretical quantum optics group. The main focus of the research of the group is on the implementation of quantum information processing in a variety of physical systems. Currently most of the research is focussed on quantum communication and light matter interactions. The group is part of the newly established Center for Hybrid Quantum Networks (Hy‑Q), which aims at exploiting photons to merge disparate quantum systems. The group is also part of the Quantum Internet Alliance (QIA), a European effort to build a global quantum internet.

The position should support the activities within the quantum internet alliance. The research will include the development of theories for near-term experiments which can be done by the participating experimental groups as well as the physical modelling of those experiments.

Inquiries about the position can be made to Professor Anders Søndberg Sørensen, Center for Hybrid Quantum Networks (Hy‑Q) and The Niels Bohr Institute, email: anders.sorensen@nbi.dk, phone: (+45) 24661377.
