The European Quantum Space at the Mobile World Congress 2023

Take a look back at the European Quantum Space, the Quantum Flagship 100m space at the Mobile World Congress 2023, curated by ICFO, showcasing the innovation and development in Quantum Technologies that Europe is driving forward especially in quantum communication, sensing and computing.

QIA members were also part of the daily Quantum coffee talks at the European Quantum Space

Quantum Internet Alliance (QIA) participated for the first time in the Mobile World Congress 2023 in Barcelona from 27 February to 02 March 2023.

QIA’s booth is part of the European Quantum Flagship pavilion at Industry Hall 4, together with other initiatives and companies active in the region’s booming quantum space. We brought a diamond chip to showcase in our booth. This chip, which has single-defect atoms inside that are used as qubits, is the basic building unit of a quantum internet.

“The Quantum Internet Alliance—a consortium building a quantum internet prototype network that will become the first of its kind—now represents ~40 world-leading organizations that are in the forefront of translating quantum internet from research to reality,” Prof. Dr. Hugues de Riedmatten, ICFO Group Leader in Quantum Optics and QIA Long Distance Lead.

“And this headway is also observed in this year’s European Quantum Space showcasing exciting companies, spin-offs and initiatives covering the whole spectrum from #quantum optical communication to ultra-precise quantum sensors. Clearly, Europe’s quantum goals has become a state of the art,” he added.
